Happy Holidays! What is new at the CORE!

Seasons Greetings!

We hope this message finds you safe and well.

We have exciting news to give you regarding the business of the CORE committee.  Ed McNachtan is leading the charge on the Operations Management curricula review and are well on their way to a completion of this in-depth analysis of this competency.  Ed and his subcommittee plan to complete their task by early March of 2021.

The CORE committee is also tackling the Leadership competency.  Chris Reams is chairing that committee.  If you are interested in becoming involved in this review, please reach out to me, [email protected] and I will put you in touch with Chris.  This group convened their inaugural meeting this month and would welcome all interested in this endeavor.

The CORE Champion program, chaired by Kelly Hutton plans to roll out the details of this exciting benefit to members in early 2021.  The goal is to have those NACM programs presented on the CORE in 2021 to qualify as credit toward a certificate.  Look for more details on this site in the coming weeks.

Lastly, but as important and perhaps even more important, the CORE committee will consider the topic of diversity, equity, and inclusion as a part of each of the thirteen competencies or perhaps a competency unto itself.  NACM’s Governance Committee recently created a subcommittee with this namesake.  The hope is that this committee will produce actionable items and programs for the benefit of members and those whom our members serve, our communities.  The CORE committee is proud to be a part of this important NACM endeavor.

We plan to keep you apprised of the progress of this committee through these posts.  Please look for another message at the end of next month.

Wishing you the safest and healthiest of holidays.  While most of us are glad to kick 2020 to the curb, let’s make 2021 special with a great start!

Take care.
