Introductions and Opportunities to Volunteer

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer. I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the Chair of the CORE® Committee for the upcoming year. I have TWO incredible co-chairs this year, Brandon Kimura and Dawn Palermo. We are excited to continue the work of those before us on curricula review, the CORE® Champion program, and all things associated with the CORE®.

At the annual conference board of directors meeting, we voted to expand the CORE® Champion Program into Phase II. Phase II includes posting recent recorded sessions from conferences and webinars that have qualified for the CORE® Champion program along with the structure response tests to the NACM website, likely within the membership portal. This will allow those who are not able to attend conferences to continue their journey to becoming a CORE® Champion. The CORE® Committee will be working with the newly-formed Website Sub-Committee to implement Phase II.

Additionally, we will continue our regular review of the CORE® curricula. This year our focus will be reviewing “The CORE® in Practice: A Guide to Strengthen Court Professionals through Application, Use, and Implementation” and the “Public Relations” curriculum.

However, WE NEED HELP for these and other projects of the Committee. Please reach out to me if you would like to learn more about any of these projects or to get more involved and work alongside colleagues from across the country to discuss, review content, add new material or best practices, and update material that is no longer pertinent.

If you are interested in learning more, join the next monthly Committee meeting over Zoom, the Fourth Wednesday of each month at 3:00 pm ET.  Here is the Committee webpage with the Zoom link, past agenda and minutes, resources, and more.
